Buy Bactroban: A Guide to Mupirocin for Treatment of Skin Infections

What is Bactroban?

Bactroban is a prescription topical cream containing the active ingredient mupirocin. It is used to treat skin infections caused by certain types of bacteria. Bactroban is available in generic form, known as mupirocin.

Common Uses of Bactroban

Bactroban is used to treat bacterial infections of the skin. It is effective in treating impetigo, a highly contagious skin infection caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. Bactroban is also used to treat other skin infections such as folliculitis, infected hair follicles, and boils.

Dosage and Directions for Use of Bactroban

Bactroban is available in 2% and 5% topical cream. The cream should be applied to the affected area of the skin 2 to 3 times a day. The area should be washed gently with soap and water before applying Bactroban. The cream should be applied in a thin layer and rubbed in until it is no longer visible. Treatment should continue for at least 5 days after the infection has cleared.

Precautions When Using Bactroban

Bactroban should not be used on children under the age of 2. It should not be used in the eyes, or on open wounds or burns. It should not be used on areas of skin that have previously been treated with other topical medications. Bactroban should not be used if the skin is reddened, swollen, or has a rash. If irritation or discomfort occurs, stop use of the medication and consult a doctor.

Contraindications for Bactroban

Bactroban should not be used if you are allergic to mupirocin or any of the other ingredients in the cream. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is recommended that you speak with your doctor before using Bactroban.

Possible Side Effects of Bactroban

The most common side effects of Bactroban are skin irritation, redness, itching, and burning. If you experience any of these side effects, stop use of the medication and consult your doctor. Rarely, Bactroban may cause an allergic reaction. If you experience any of the following symptoms, seek medical attention immediately: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, tongue, or throat.

Drug Interactions of Bactroban

Bactroban should not be used with other topical medications. It should not be used if you are taking any other medications, including over-the-counter medications, vitamins, or herbal supplements.

Missed Dose of Bactroban

If you forget to apply Bactroban, apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your normal dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Overdose of Bactroban

If you think you have used too much Bactroban, contact your doctor or local poison control center immediately.

Storage of Bactroban

Bactroban should be stored at room temperature away from light and moisture. Keep the medication in a tightly closed container. Do not freeze the medication or keep it in the bathroom.
